I'm a graphic designer and illustrator based in Rochester, NY. Graphic design is like putting together a puzzle with cool pictures, two things I love doing! When I'm not giving myself scoliosis at my desk I'm devouring comics (currently reading Love & Rockets) and digging through racks of moth-eaten clothes at the thrift store.
My work is the end result of a brain bombarded with the intensely saturated imagery of comic books, record jackets and Saturday morning cartoons. My love of vibrant color schemes as well as my fascination with learning and deconstructing systems form the basis of my designs.I consider myself eclectic in my influences—taking bits and pieces, moves and tricks from artists and designers across forms of media. From the bold, yet not overwrought posters and album covers of Milton Glaser I learned the wonder of simple shapes and pops of color— that “just enough is more.”Devouring the comic book art of Jack Kirby and Jim Steranko ignited a fascination with contrast, page layouts and intuitive grid systems—a fascination which was deepened after I discovered Josef Muller- Brockmann’s iconic concert poster series and his writing on the grid. Currently, my obsession with patches and stickers has led me to the work of Aaron Draplin, whose ability to condense and simplify nearly anything into one precise, bold, geometric composition is one I strive to emulate.
I'd love to work with you.
